User registration

The public areas of the libraries are freely accessible. You can also consult open shelf collections without registration. However, if you want to use the services for borrowing books, scanning requests, etc., you must register as a user.

UGent students and staff are automatically registered. Members of a UGent Alumni Association, staff members of the UZ Gent and staff members and students of the other partners of the Ghent University Association (Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, HOGENT University of Applied Sciences and HOWEST University of Applied Sciences) can register as readers free of charge. Your alumni card, UZ ID card and Ghent University Association ID card serve as your reader card.

External users can register as visitors at the Book Tower and faculty libraries. You will receive a library card and a password.
